Before the cattle classes at the National Show, a handling competition took place for young members. The competition, which was divided into three separate classes: Junior, Intermediate and Senior, was very kindly judged by Kirree Kermode.
The winners of each class were:
- Junior: Patricia Moore, in second place was D.J. Keane.
- Intermediate: Daniel Moloney
- Senior: Rachel Moloney
