Well known breeder Bertie Mannion of the Ballyline Limousin herd spoke to Midwest Radio about how an investment in one female lead to the herd he has today. Bertie spoke about the benefits of the breed for him and his farming system – Bertie works off farm and found the Limousin cow the ideal – with easy calving traits, vigorous calves and excellent mothering skills.
Bertie also took the opportunity to tell Michael (Midwest radio Farming Matters presenter) all about the upcoming society Bull sale in Elphin mart.
Have a listen – to find Bertie’s piece skip forward to 27:00 – the rest of the program is well worth listening to – a very informative show.
Thanks to Bertie and all at Farming Matters.
