2017 Charleville Show
Charleville Agricultural Show was held for its 38th year on Saturday and Sunday the 24th and 25th of June 2017 at Pike Cross, Charleville, Co. Cork. Cattle showing and judging was held on Saturday. Noel Barry, Swinford, Co. Mayo was tasked with judging the Limousin section. Noel and his family run the pedigree Novichristie herd.
While the numbers on show were small the quality of the Limousin cattle on display was excellent.
Meelickaduff Honda Et, last year’s RDS champion of Champions, had her long journey from county Roscommon rewarded when she took the Champion Limousin title. Honda, a Wilodge Vantastic daughter, was shown by her breeder Owen Hester, Castlerea, with her young bull calf, Meelickaduff Massey, at foot.

Reserve Champion went to a September 2016 born heifer calf, Roundhill Langel 1700 Et, from the Corridan family, Fedamore, Co. Limerick. Making her debut show appearance, this exceptional heifer is a daughter of Netherhall Jackpot and Netherhall Galaxy.

Champion Male Ardnacrusha Lord Of The Rings Et, is a September 2016 born son of Wilodge Vantastic and Etole. He was bred by the Moloney family of Ardnacrusha, Co. Clare. Lord Of The Rings dam, Etole is the mother of many outstanding cattle in the Limousin herdbook. She has been flushed very successfully, with many of her off-spring performing exceptionally well in both the show and sales ring. She is the dam of last year’s RDS Champion of Champions – Meelickaduff Honda Et and also the Balmoral winner Ardnacrusha Jaguar Et.
