The North West club held their annual heifer sale in Elphin mart on Monday evening the 2nd of December. Great demand for Limousin genetics with a clearance rate of 100%, with an average price of €2,681.
Lot 9. Top call on the night went to the Telfers Munster daughter ROCKVIEW UNA from Martin O’Connor’s Strokestown herd. Una came to the ring after enjoying a tremendous showing career. She was exhibited at 10 shows at which she was awarded 13 rosettes including taking the Overall Limousin Championship at three outings. Una’s dam Clew Bay Rebecca Et (a Huntershall Gladiator daughter) was purchased from the Golden family at a previous North West Club heifer sale. Una has one copy of the F94L gene and a copy of the NT821 gene.

Lot 15. Castlerea based Mary Tarpey presented five heifers at this sale all of which found new abodes. The highest price achieved from the herd was €3,650 for BOYANAGH URENA. This August born heifer is a daughter of the renowned Claddagh Mccabe (Et). She has one copy of the F94L gene and one copy of the Q204X gene. .
Lot 13. €3,400 was top call for the Excel daughter BOYANAGH ULYSSA, also from Mary Tarpey. Ulyssa has a Replacement index of €124 and a Terminal index of €130, she is a double carrier of the F94L gene.
Lot 8. Claiming the top-price from a consignment of five heifers from well-known Elphin based breeder Pat Bruen, was CARROWREAGH URI, she sold for €3,200. Uri has Tomschoice Lexicon, Ronick Hawk and Sympa in her lineage. She shares a grand dam with Dovea Ai’s Carrowreagh Pablo (LM7077).
Lot 6. The multi-starred Usse daughter CARROWREAGH UBEAUTY found a new home for €3,150. Ubeauty has a Replacement index of €173. Her dam Carrowreagh Raven is a daughter of Kaprico Eravelle.
Lot 16. Swinford, Mayo based Michael Oliver accepted a price of €3,000 for his heifer LISNACRANN UNA FUSHIA. This July 2023 born heifer has Moondharrig Knell, Hirohito and Rocky in her lineage.
Lot 4. From the local Elphin based herd of Pat Bruen cam CARROWREAGH UNITY, a daughter of Queenshead Altea and the Plumtree Fantastic dam Carrowreagh Rochelle. Unity has five star ratings in Replacement index and Terminal index. She fetched €2,800 in the sales ring.
Lot 14. July 2023 born BOYANAGH ULYANA sold for €2,550. Ulyana has Loyal, Wilodge Fastrac and Ulm in her sire stack. She is a double carrier of the F94L. Ulyana is from the herd of Mary Tarpey.
Lot 10. CLEW BAY USA, a yearling daughter of Wilodge Formulaone sold for €2,550. USA has a five star Replacement index of €140 and a Terminal index of €114. She was shown successful during the summer. USA was bred by Westport based Padraic Golden.
Lot 2. ALOOR TARA, from the herd of Patsy Cregiton, Castlerea. Tara has five star ratings in almost every trait. She has a replacement index of €135 and a Terminal index of €152. Tara is a daughter of Brackan Ruben and the Lodge Hamlet dam Aloor Rose. Tara changed hands for €2,350.
Lot 3. Also from Patsy Creighton was the Ewdenvale Ivor daughter ALOOR UNA. Una boasts a five star Replacement index of €150. Her homebred dam Aloor Lavinia is a daughter of Castleview Casino (Et). Una sold for €2,350.
Lot 7. CARROWREAGH UDELLA, a daughter of Telfers Munster sold for €2,100. Udella has five star ratings in Terminal index, Docility, Carcass weight, Carcass conformation and Daughter milk. Udella’s dam Carrowreagh Mensa is a daughter of On-dit.
Lot 11. Seventeen month old BOYANAGH UNITY from Mary Tarpey sold for €2,000. Unity has Telfers Munster, Castleview Gringo Et and Netherhall Epic in her sire stack. She is a double carrier of the F94L gene.
Lot 1. ALOOR UMIKA a daughter of Loyal, with Castleview Gazelle and Castleview Casino in her lineage sold for €1,800. Umika is a double carrier of the F94L gene. She was presented for sale by Patsy Creighton, Castlerea.
Lot 5. A Hirohito daughter from the yard of Pat Bruen sold for €1,800. This April 2023 born heifer CARROWREAGH UPPABABY, is a double carrier of the F94L gene. She is related to Progressive Genetics Carrowreagh Honduras (ZCH). .
Lot 12. The Powerful Proper daughter BOYANAGH ULANI found a new home for €1,800. Ulani’s dam Boyanagh Pippa is a daughter of Wilodge Goldcard.
