The Premier Show and sale held over the bank holiday weekend 29th and 30th October met with some excellent prices for both bulls and heifers.

We had a bumper entry of 228 cattle. All herds with animals on offer are participating in the Whole Herd Recording Program. All bulls are sold under the Fertility Insurance Scheme thereby affording purchasers extra confidence.

Judge for this sale was Mr. Terry Coghill, from Muce Farm in the Orkney Islands, Scotland. Terry along with his family run a large commercial suckler herd along with the Hekra pedigree Limousin herd. Speaking after the show and sale Terry said:

I was very honoured to be asked to judge here in Roscrea at the Premier show & sale, it was a real pleasure to come here and experience an ILCS show and sale. I was presented with excellent Limousin cattle. There were excellent bulls in all classes, of many different types which is ideal for purchasers as not everyone is looking for the same thing. The bulls at the top end were outstanding. I set my eye on the Senior Champion Drummin Lente Et and was sucessfully in purchasing him for my herd in Orkney.

The females here in Roscrea were nice quality and they should go on to make very good cows. The Champion heifer Limestone Kahlua was exceptionally good. I would like to thank the ILCS for inviting me to judge here in Roscrea and for the wonderful welcome and hospitality I received during my time here.
