As a pedigree Limousin breeder the NGP (National Genotype Programme) may be of benefit to you. The purpose of this post is to make you aware of the benefits of joining the program.
Currently as a breeder all animals going to a society sale must be genotyped. Before a calf can be reigistered to a first calving heifer – the heifer must have been genotyped.
For those selling animals from home it is of value to genotype them as correct parentage can be confirmed.
