The North West Club Herds competition is confined to breeders in the club area with a herd number in Co. Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo or breeders who were accepted as club members in last year’s competition.
All entrants must be North West Limousin club members having paid 2026 club membership on or before 01-May 2026.
The competition entry fee is €80 per herd.
Judging will take place second week in September.
Each category will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize.
- There will be an award for the best Novice Herd that has not entered the herds competition previously.

| I. Best Cow Family (3 female generations minimum). |

| L. Best Heifer born before 1/1/25 that has not yet had a calf |
| M. Best Stock Bull |
| N. Best Cow with calf at foot |
| O. Best In-Calf Dry Cow |
| P. Best 2026 born Heifer |
| Q. Best 2026 born Bull |
* Herds will be divided for Categories A, B and C after entries are received, based on the number of pedigree Limousin cows in the herd on 01/08/2026.
