Held on a beautiful, sunny Saturday, August 16th, Cappamore Show was a huge success, drawing a great turnout of top-quality cattle across every breed.
The Limousin classes were judged by renowned breeder and judge, Sarah McEliggott from Asdee, Co. Kerry. With a reputation as a highly regarded cattle breeder and show judge, Sarah has judged numerous shows across Ireland. She is also a noted breeder of exceptional livestock, running both a pedigree and commercial suckler herd. Her own pedigree Limousin herd, the Shannon herd, is a familiar sight at society shows and sales. Sarah has bred some exceptional A.I. sires, including Shannon Stan and Shannon Samurai, both of which stand with Progressive Genetics A.I. station and are known for their short gestation traits.
Sarah’s choice for Champion was Wood Road Valentina ET, an outstanding 11-month-old daughter of Ampertaine Foreman and Wood Road Jacinta Et, owned by Noel Fennessy. Valentina has had a stellar show season, winning her class at the 34th National Show in Tullamore on August 10th. Her maternal brother, Wood Road Vernon ET, was named Overall Male Champion at the same event. In the pair’s competition, Valentina and her full sister, Wood Road Vera ET, secured a notable second place.
The Reserve Champion title went to Knockcoolkeare Violet, a striking 9-month-old heifer, placed second to the Champion in the September to December born class. Violet is daughter of Plumtree Fantastic, owned by Michael Roche. Violet has also had a very successful show season, including a class win at the National Show.

Limousin Breeding Heifer of the Year
Cappamore Show in association with the Irish Limousin Society presented the Limousin Breeding Heifer of the Year.
The winner for 2025 is Ruby from the herd of Kevin Devine, Claremorris, Co. Mayo. Ruby is a January 2024 born daughter of Jagerbomb. Standing in second was Foxy a daughter of Claddagh Mccabe ET exhibited by Micheal Creed, Co. Cork.
Interbreed
In the Interbreed Pedigree Calf Class First prize went to Noel Fennessy for his September 2024 born heifer Wood Road Valentine Et, a daughter of Ampertaine Foreman. In fourth place was Micheal Roche with his September 2024 born bull Knockcoolkeare Valubull by Millbrook Playboy. In 5th place was Wood Road Vera Et, a full sister of the first prize winner.
Ballybrown Alexa, a daughter of Westpit Omaha and Roundhill Lunamine 1656 was placed second in the 2025 born interbreed class.
