This Year’s Herds competition will commence over two weekends on 11th – 12th and 18th – 19th September. A presentation night will be held in due course when current Covid-19 restrictions allow same to take place.
Sections
- Small: 0-6
- Medium: 7-15
- Large: 16+
Sections are based on number of Pedigree calves registered in 2020
There will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each Section.
Prizes Categories will include:
- Best Heifer Calf Born in 2021
- Best Heifer Born in 2020
- Best Maiden or In-calf Heifer born before 31.12. 2019
- Best Pedigree Cow
- Best Bull Calf Born in 2021
- Best Bull Born in 2020
- Best Stock Bull
- Best Group of Calves Sucking Cows
Entry fee is 50 euro per herd and breeder can enter any or all categories. Entry form must be returned fully completed with entry fee included or entry will be eliminated from competition.
All stock being judged must be at breeders own yard at one location (cattle at 2 or more yards will not be viewed- Judge escort will enforce this rule)
Judge will be provided with meals/accommodation in hotel/B&B. No tea or refreshments will be accepted by Judge at any location. Breeders can socialise will Judge at Presentation Night.
If the breeder wishes he/she can enter one or more of the individual categories without entering their herd in the competition.
Competition will be in accordance with HSE and Public Health Guidelines regarding COVID-19.
