Lola the Leading lady in Limousin breeding Heifer of the year class

Cappamore show played host to the “Limousin Breeding Heifer of the Year Class” on Saturday the 17th of August, 2024. A strong lineup of LMX heifers competed for the coveted title, after careful deliberation tapped out as this years winner was the Trueman Idol daughter “LOLA”. February 2023 born Lola is a super black LMX heifer – an absolute powerhouse. Lola was exhibited by owners Sinead and Ciara McKeon from Co. Longford.

 

Standing the second place was MIDNIGHT from the herd of Owen O’Neill, Carlow. Midnight is a October 2022 born daughter of TVR (Elite Forever Brill ET).

Third place went to Cappamore man Eamon O’Donovan for his March 2023 born heifer SONAS. She is a daughter of Ballinloan Jaegerbomb.

Shane Kelleher took fourth prize for his February 2023 born heifer Phoebe, a daughter of Elite Ice Cream.

Ennistymon, Co. Clare based Paul Davitt took both fifth and sixth place.

 

Society vice treasurer Pat Sheahan of the Drombanny herd in county Limerick was on hand to make the presentation to the McKeon’s on behalf of the Irish Limousin Cattle Society.
