The Irish Limousin Cattle Society’s first show and sale of 2023 will take place in Elphin Mart on Saturday, March 11th. The show will commence at 9:00am with the sale scheduled to start at 12:30pm.

There are a total of 68 bulls catalogued for Saturday with a variety of easy-calving, maternal and terminal bloodlines. Many of the bulls entered are genotyped 5-star for both maternal and terminal traits.

Additionally, all the bulls come from high health status herds and are fertility tested and fertility insured.

The society will also provide a number of incentives to potential buyers on the day. Firstly, there will be €400 towards all bulls selling for a minimum of €4,000.

Secondly, bulls purchased by UK buyers will be transported from Elphin Mart to a lairage facility near Larne in NI and will be held there for the required 42 days and then transported to the UK. The Irish Limousin Cattle Society is providing a payment of €500 towards the transport, insurance and lairage costs. A minimum purchase price of €4,000 is required to qualify for the €500 payment.

For Northern Irish buyers, bulls will be exported tested on the day of sale. There will also free transport to a central location in Northern Ireland.

Finally, finance is available through Ormonde Finance, but this must be applied for prior to sale day.
