In conjunction with Cappamore show, the Irish Limousin Cattle Society hosted a Limousin Breeding Heifer of the year competition on Saturday 18th August at Portnard, Cappamore.

This competition is confined to non-pedigree heifers with no permanent teeth on show day, the heifers must be LMX and are judged on their potential to produce a calf for high priced markets.

A very strong line-up of exceptional heifers competed in this class. After much deliberation the judges tapped out Daniel and Rachel Moloney’s outstanding Carmorn Co-pilot daughter “Everest” as the deserved winner. Everest was born in February 2017 to a Charolais cow. Daniel and Rachel have shown Everest at numerous shows this year – she accompanies the families renowned Ardnacrusha Limousin pedigree show team.
