A daughter of Dovea Genetics famous Limousin bull Elderberry Galahad (EBY)topped the annual commercial breeding heifer sale held in Castleisland mart on Wednesday 24th April 2024. The smart looking heifer weighed 430kg and sold for €1,500 or €3.49/kg.
Selling at €1,570 (3.43/kg) was a daughter of the Chatelain son Shannon Melody, this heifer came to the ring with a 4-star Replacement index value of €120. She weighed 458kg.

The first prize winning heifer was a black Limousin daughter from the herd of John O’Connor, Lisselton, Co. Kerry. Her sire is the aforementioned Chatelain son Shannon Melody (bred by Sarah McElligott, Asdee).
The second prize winning heifer was the property of John Somers, she weighed 526kg.
