The final sale of 2020 took place in Tuam on Friday evening the 11th December. Prices ranged from €1800 to €5050 for bulls.

€5050 – CLEW BAY PANDA

Topping the sale at €5,050  was the outstanding CLEW BAY PANDA from Padraic Golden, Westport, Co Galway. Panda is a striking son of Mereside Godolphin and the Hunstershall Gladiator dam Clew Bay Kelly 2. Panda came to the ring with five star ratings in Replacement index, Terminal index, Docility, Carcass weight and Carcass conformation. Born in March 2019, Panda was the pick of local farmer Martin Keane, Tuam.

€3800 – CRANMORE PIRATE

Ray O’Hara, Swinford, Co. Mayo presented an Ampertaine Elgin – CRANMORE PIRATE  at the sale. Pirate comes from a highly successful gene pool, his dam is Meenross Klass she has Sympa and Wilodge Vantastic in her sire stack. His maternal Granddam Castleview Felicity is also dam to Meenross Leader (a bull that had a tremendous show record as a calf, including winning honours at the National show). Pirate commanded the second highest price of the night when he sold for €3800 to Brian Doran of county Wicklow.

€3000 – PORTAUNS P V-EASY

Three thousand euro was the securing bid for PORTAUNS P V-EASY from Laurence and John Lynch, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. P V-Easy is a multi-starred son of Tomschoice Lexicon and the Nimbus-Mn daughter Glebe Pard Brid. This 18 month old bull was the pick of a county Leitrim based farmer.

€3000 – BIRCHPARK PACKER

The youngest bull sold was BIRCHPARK PACKER from Owen Flannery, Mountshannon, Co. Clare. Packer is a well-muscled son of Whinfellpark Lomu and the Plumtree Fantastic daughter Birchpark Lady. Fourteen month old Packer was the pick of Teresa Donnellan, Tuam for €3,000.

Two bulls found new homes at €2,900. First at this price was MULLAGHBOY PETER from well-established breeder Matthew Fee, Corrawallen, Co. Leitrim. Peter has Bavardage, Ampertaine Commander and Navarin in his sire stack. With five star ratings in many traits, Peter was snapped up by Patrick Gilcreest, Co. Cavan.

€2900 – CLONLARA PERCY

Colin Hogg, Clonlara, Co. Clare presented the second bull CLONLARA PERCY which sold for €2,900. Percy is a son of Bavardage, his dam Clonlara Irish Rose is a daughter of Neuf. Percy has five star ratings in Replacement index, Terminal index, Carcass weight, Carcass conformation and Daughter milk. A Foxford, Co. Mayo farmer purchased Percy.

Also by Bavardage was BUNNYMORE POIROT from Michael Reynolds, Carrick On Shannon, Co. Leitrim. Poirot has an array of five star ratings. His dam Bunnymore Harper has Sympa and Mas Du Clo in her back pedigree. Michael accepted €2,800 for Poirot from Frank Kelly, Co. Galway.

Three bulls sold for €2,500. Lot 13 MULLAGHBOY PACKIE was first at this price. Packie is a son of Goldies Jackpot and the Nenuphar dam Mullaghboy Ciara. Multi starred Packie was bred by Matthew Fee. He was acquired by Enda O’Connor, Kinvara, Co. Galway.

GREEN HILL POWER, a May 2019 born bull from Damien McLoughlin, Ballina, Co. Mayo was the second bull sold at €2,500. Power has Ewdenvale Ivor, Meridien, Proctors Commander and Acajou in his linage. Multi-starred Power returns to Mayo with a Foxford based buyer.

OVAUN PAT, one of the first offspring of Fenomen to be offered for sale in Ireland made €2,500. Pat was bred in Elphin, Co. Roscommon by Michael Gunn. Born in September 2019, multi-starred Pat has On-Dit and Ronick Hawk in his back pedigree. Pat heads to the farm of James Callinan, Ballyvaughan.

SHANNON PEARL 2, a daughter of Keltic Handsome sold for €1,900. Pearl 2 was bred by Sarah Mcelligott, Listowel, Co. Kerry.
