Castleisland mart hosted a show and sale of LMX calves on Monday the 5th April 2021. Judging the competition was John O’Connor of the Gleanasmole pedigree and commercial herd based in Lisselton. Commenting on the calves on offer John said: I was presented with an excellent display of calves here in Castleisland, they are great examples of the type of calves born into dairy herds. Running a Limousin bull with a dairy herd results in great calves that are easily sold at any age like these young calves on offer today – there is great demand for Limousin cattle of every age at marts all over the country. I would like to thank the management and staff here in Castleisland, Sean O’Sullivan and Sarah McElligott for organising the show and sale here today, well done to all the exhibitors and best wishes to all purchasers. Many thanks to the Irish Limousin Cattle Society for sponsoring the classes.
