The 2025 Carrick-On-Shannon Winter Fair, held on Sunday and Monday, November 23rd and 24th by the Midland and Western Livestock Improvement Society Ltd., saw a fantastic display of Limousin sired cattle. The quality on show translated into outstanding prices in the sales ring, with demand from bidders both online and ringside.
Champions Secure Top Prices
Four competitive classes of Limousin heifers battled for the top honours before judge James Nisbet. The atmosphere was electric, culminating in two exceptional animals taking the champion titles:
Overall Champion Limousin: The coveted title of Overall Champion Limousin went to an outstanding Trueman Idol daughter (Lot 272) from the herd of Derrick Forde, Galway. The Champion subsequently commanded a phenomenal price in the ring, selling for €23,000.
Reserve Champion Limousin: Tapped out as Reserve was a smashing Pabo Rocknroll daughter (Lot 315) from the County Louth-based herd of Michael and Brodie Molloy. This Reserve Champion named Sprinkles sold for an impressive sale price of €20,000.
Post-Sale Catchup: We caught up with Brodie Molloy to talk about her Reserve Champion heifer and their fantastic results at the Winter Fair. Brodie and Michael capped off what has been a truly exceptional year in the show ring, following their earlier success when their pedigree heifer, Mullary Vabulous, was crowned Supreme Champion at the National Show in Tullamore.
