Pictured is the Senior Champion RAVANNY VERTIGO sold for €16,800
Roscrea Mart was the place to be on Bank Holiday Monday, 27th October, for the annual Premier Show and Sale. The event saw a tremendous display, with 53 Limousin bulls and 11 heifers presented from every corner of the country.
Proceedings kicked off with the show classes under the experienced eye of Mr. Derek Frew, of the noted Frewstown Herd in County Antrim. With seven bull classes and two heifer classes, Derek faced a challenging task, but he judged with great ease. A true testament to his keen eye, his prize winners didn’t disappoint in the sales ring and commanded strong prices.
The sale concluded with exceptionally high clearance rates, demonstrating intense demand for the quality animals presented. Farmers anxious to source a new bull or heifer began to arrive at the mart from two hours before the sale kicked off – with the packed ring Michael McInerney was tasked with a new role as bid spotter.
