Kilkenny mart held their first multi-breed Show & Sale of 2019 on Wednesday 20th March at Cillin Hill. Limousin met with a 93% clearance and an average selling price of €2,684.62.

Judge for the Limousin Classes was Mr. Michael Fox. Taking the plaudits of Champion bull was Farmleigh Malcom a September 2017 born son of the homebred Farmleigh Jager (an Ampertaine Commander son) and Farmleigh Jane (a Newtown Hugo) daughter. Malcom has five star ratings in Terminal Index, Carcass weight and Carcass conformation. Malcom was bred in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford by Joe and David Swaine. Malcom sold for €2,600.

Standing in Reserve was Brian Campion’s Knockiel Mayweather, a Keltic Handsome son. Mayweather has five star ratings in Replacement Index, Docility, Carcass weight, Carcass conformation and Daughter calving. Mayweather sold for €2,800.
