Based in Claregalway in county Galway Tommy became a Limousin breeder in 1998 and joined the North West Limousin club where his affable nature and great work ethic were quickly recognised leading to him being nominated to represent the NW club on the ILCS Council. Tommy contributed greatly to Council, imparting wisdom on whatever matters arose, quietly spoken but always thinking before speaking. His greatest contribution was undoubtedly his willingness to help out organising and stewarding at Society events, the quiet worker always in the background never looking for the limelight.
Tommy has always been a terrific advocate of the Limousin breed and Irish agricultural shows, not as a exhibitor but more importantly as a supporter, the person who never has anything to gain but just there from sheer enjoyment, a warm smile and softly spoken word for everyone, a gentleman through and through.
The contribution that he has made both to the Irish Limousin Cattle Society, the North West Limousin club and the Irish shows scene makes Tommy Gannon a very worthy Irish Limousin Cattle Society Hall of Fame recipient.
Everyone at the Irish Limousin Cattle Society extends heartfelt congratulations to Tommy and wishes him every success in the future.
