On Wednesday 18th October 2017 Carnew mart held its Limousin Weanling show and sale.
Champion bull calf, by an Ampertaine Elgin son weighed 430kg and sold for €1140.
The Champion heifer (below) weighed in at 380kg and sold for €1040
Other weights and prices at the sale included:
The group of three (pictured below) weighed 361kg and sold for €1000.
The pair of weanlings pictured below weighed 385kg and sold for €1080.
The weanling pictured below weighed 334kg and sold for €939.
Overall the show and sale had a big entry with good Limousin Weanlings making €2.70-€2.90 per kg.
