Erris Agricultural Show 2017 entries and results

“Erris Agricultural Show was revived a few years ago and this annual event now attracts hundreds of people from all over Ireland. The show takes place at Carne Airstrip, near Carne Golf Links, just outside of Belmullet town. The Erris Agricultural Show is a showcase and a celebration of rural life. The event includes many attractions and numerous contests for people to enter, e.g. cattle, sheep, horses, poultry, vintage cars etc. There is also live music, children’s entertainment, tug o’ war, vintage truck show, jiving & waltzing, and much more!”… source: Erris Agricultural Show webpage

This year the show was held on Sunday 23rd of July. The show was a huge success and was held in glorious sunshine, 25 pedigree Limousin’s vied for honours in five keenly contested classes. Two heifers from Ciaran Golden took the Overall Limousin Championship and Reserve. To cap a great days showing Ciaran also took the Overall Pedigree Champion of the Show and received the Reillys Pharmacy Perpetual Cup.

Above is Ciaran Golden’s Best Pedigree Limousin Heifer born after 1/9/15.

The Champion also from Ciaran’s herd won the Best Pedigree Limousin Heifer born after 1/9/16.

 Jack Vahey exhibited the Best Pedigree Limousin Heifer Calf born after 1/1/17.
