Ballymoney Veronica, a 5 year old cow bred by Irish breeder Angus McDonnell, triumphed as the Limousin Champion and Interbreed Champion at the recent Royal Welsh Show. She was purchased by Harry Emslie and Lynwen Evans as part of the foundation stock for the Emslie herd.

Her success was compounded when she was part of the Limousin team of five to take the Team of Five award on the second day of the show.

An outstanding hatrick of successes was completed by her when she was part of the Limousin team which took the Interbreed Pair title.

From an Irish perspective, this final victory was made even more enjoyable as Veronica’s partner was Greenhill Viper, bred by John Greene from County Donegal. Greenhill Viper’s marvellous acheivement comes hot on the heels of his success one week ago at the Great Yorkshire show, when he was declared Limousin champion and Reserve Interbreed Champion

Congratulations to all concerned. It’s a proud day for the Irish having Irish bred animals achieve such success at these most prestigious of shows
