Tinahely show Co. Wicklow was the venue for the 2013 National Heifer finals. The judge on the day was Mr. Henry Savage from the Truemans herd ,Newry Co. Down.
The Senior heifer title went to Milbrook Ginger Spice from William Smith, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, bred by Wilodge Vantastic and Milbrook Baby this was another accolade in the long list of achievements for this heifer.
The Intermediate heifer championship went to Elite Giselle from Edward Tynan, Doon, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Sired by Wilodge Vantastic and from a French dam Uriel.
In 2nd place was Ardlea George from Dan Tynan, Doon, Mountrath, Co. Laois, this heifer was by the Ardlea stock sire Emerson and Ardlea Delta.
3rd position was taken by Timothy Corridan, Fedamore, Co. Limerick with an Attirant daughter Roundhill G Melodie 1336 from the French dam Melodie.
In the Junior heifer section Brendan O’Shea Templequain, Portlaoise, Co. Laois took top spot with his Wilodge Cerebrius daughter Templequain Heather who is from the dam Ardlea Christebelle.
In 2nd place was Fairymount Holly from Tommy Daly, Coon,Carlow, Co Kilkenny, by the sire Emerson, Holly is bred from a homebred dam Fairymount Cara.
Michael Molloy, Dunleer, Co. Louth saw his Ulm sired entry Mullary Haute Couture standing in 3rd place . Couture is by the dam Mullary Charlie.
4th place went to Timothy Corridan’s Roundhill H Giroflee 1385, sired by Acajou this heifer is by a home bred dam Roundhill E Giroflee 1164.
Tommy Daly was back in again taking 5th place with Fairymount Havana , sired again by Emerson Havana is from a homebred dam Fairymount Vera.
Speaking after the show the judge Mr. Henry Savage stated “ the quality put forward in front of me today was of a very high standard, any female standing in the ring today would be one that you would love to bring home with you “
