The 59th Annual Cappamore show was held in Portnard, Cappamore on Saturday 17th, August 2013. This year Irish Limousin had the privilege of running the Anglo Irish YMA and the show at Cappamore had the honour of hosting this prestigious event. The Anglo Irish YMA is an annual international competition between England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Paddy Ryan the long serving secretary of the very hard working show committee formally opened the showing section of the show. Paddy is a very well known Limousin breeder, he and his family run the Sliabh Felim herd in Cappamore and have had many successes to date with both their Pedigree and Commercial Limousin cattle. Besides Paddy’s interest in cattle he is a gentleman and probably personally welcomed every breeder and visitor to the cattle rings.

Cappamore is possibly the most welcoming show one can attend. A key contributor to this very successful show is the number of volunteers always willing to help with a smile.

The show commenced with two very keenly contested Interbreed Young Stock Person Competitions (Boys and Girls, 16 years or under). The winner was South West YMA member Orla Curtin of Clarina, under the watchful gaze of judges John McInerney and Tom Hickey.
